Sirmione: 25 Minute Boat Cruise around the Peninsula

About This Experience
Highlights
- Round the entire Sirmione peninsula in 25 minutes — the axis both the Romans and the Scaligers actually built along
- See the Rocca Scaligera's walls rising directly out of the lake, and its rare fortified harbour, which reads as an enclosed basin only from outside
- View the Grotte di Catullo's terraced Roman substructures and the Grande Criptoportico in elevation on the west cliff — on foot you walk on top of them
- Pass the Fonte Boiola, the 69 C sulphur spring that rises offshore and made Sirmione a spa town
- See the white limestone shelf of Jamaica Beach running underwater along the northern shore
- Glimpse Villa Maria Callas from the water — it is private property with no public access on foot
- Live commentary in English and Italian

Good to Know
- The circuit is non-stop — there are no landings, so bring a separate ticket if you also want to go inside the castle or the Grotte di Catullo

- Late afternoon front-lights the west cliff where the Roman substructures are, and crowds thin after about 17:00
Meeting Point
Piazzale Porto — the small harbour directly in front of the Scaligero Castle, Sirmione
